The safety of our patients and staff is of the utmost importance at St. Lucy’s Vision Center.

Our leadership team has pro-actively developed precautions against COVID-19 in the office. We believe preparing staff and informing patients are positive steps to avoid spreading the virus.

  • We have reduced our patient schedule to reinforce social distancing measures within the office.
  • When you enter the office, we ask that you clean your hands using the sanitizing station provided.
  • For further protection, staff and patients are being asked to wear a mask upon arrival to the office.
  • Staff and patients will be required to answer screening questions specific to COVID-19.
  • Patients with a respiratory infection, fever or who have traveled outside the Tampa Bay area in the last 14 days are being asked to reschedule appointments.
  • Staff members who have respiratory issues or fever are instructed to stay at home.
  • We use CDC approved methods for sanitizing instruments, surfaces and optical frames between patients.

While the overall risk from COVID-19 to the general public remains low, elderly people and individuals with chronic medical conditions may have an increased risk with COVID-19.

The best prevention measures for any respiratory virus are:

  • Washing hands often with soap and warm water for 20 seconds (or, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer).
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid prolonged, close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
